THE TOTAL HAM PLUS DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM
VERSION 4.2
This program is designed to run by itself and show you all
the features of THE TOTAL HAM PLUS. While it is running you may hit
ESC at any pause to abort the program or if you hit any other key the
pause will be aborted. That will allow you to go on in the program if
you are finished reading the information displayed. This can speed up
the program or allow you to step though to where you left off if you
have aborted it previously.
The ULTIMATE in logging and record keeping. NOW with C.A.T.
radio interface for automatically entering the frequency to the log.
NOW with a terminal mode for use with the packet DX clusters.
HAVE YOU EVER heard a station on the air and asked yourself:
" Do I need that country, state, zone, county or continent??????? "
" What direction do I point my beam & how far away is he??????? "
With THE TOTAL HAM PLUS online all you have to do is hit a key to find out.
" Did I work him before and when???? "
" Does he have a QSL manager???? "
THE TOTAL HAM PLUS tells you AUTOMATICALLY.
" I'm in my logging program & my checklists or beam headings are in another
program. I have to leave this one & get the other one loaded."
By the time you do that you may have lost your chance to work him.
If those questions strike home - READ ON.
For those who have not seen the TOTAL HAM Series, this is a program designed
to be used online while on the air. Everything you need is online & readily
available within the same program. The TOTAL HAM (shareware version) has been
very popular since early 1988.
NOW a much enchanced version, THE TOTAL HAM PLUS, is available as a commercial
program.
TOTAL HAM PLUS is lite bar menu driven & very fast on hard drives.
TOTAL HAM PLUS gives you while online: logging(3 modes),Beam headings from your
QTH, DXCC,WAS,WAZ,WAC,COUNTY HUNTERS,ITU ZONE & DX ZONE checklists,
QSL managers info, QSL card handling, log maintenence & more.
In the logging mode (Regular, contest & net formats available) you have at your
finger tips, your country, state, county, continent & itu & cq dx zone
checklists. You also have special info screens available such as the
international prefix allocation table, authorized & unauthorized frequencies
for classes of licenses. A user kept QSL managers list is also available.
Entering a call sign at the prompt will display any other contacts made with
that callsign. If that callsign has any QSL manager listed in the QSL managers
list, that manager will be displayed also. Adding a qsl manager or changing an
existing manager while logging the contact will automatically update the QSL
managers list. All logging modes automatically enter the time & date
(converted to UTC from you computers system clock), band, mode, & will carry
over the previous signal reports & frequency (changable if you wish after
entry). A flag is available to flag this contact as wanted for QSL purposes
(new country, rare, etc).
The contest mode is a shortened, fast entry version of regular logging. Along
with auto entry of time & date, the contest name & a 59 signal report is auto
entered (changable if you wish after entry). A Contact number is displayed &
automatically incremented for use if the contest uses contact numbers.
The net mode is the same as regular logging except that it will keep track of
the stations worked while in the net mode & will display, at the touch of a
function key, all contacts made & info you have entered. Who's on the net with
you????
The country, state, county,dx zone & itu zone checklists give you online info
about whether you have confirmed or need a confirmation from a station. They
display all bands & SSB or CW modes with X's for those confirmed.
The QSL manager list mentioned above can be kept up to date by entering info
found in any source. You may also edit, delete or print the list.
The QSL card handling option allows you to enter a QSL card you have received
by entering the call sign. your log is searched & displays all contacts with
that callsign not already marked as received. This will flag your log entry
with the fact that a card was recieved & allow you to also enter this card as
a new country, state, county or zone into one of the checklists at this time.
When you are ready to send QSL cards, you may print lists to send cards to.
or print information labels for use on QSL Cards. The first list printed is
all those you flagged as wanted & the second list is all those you need to
send to. There is also an option to flag contacts as not wanting to qsl to
prevent unneeded contacts from showing in these lists.
The log maintenance option allows editing & listing or printing of your log.
It allows print outs by date, month, whole log or log since last printing.
Those who have used the shareware version "THE TOTAL HAM" will find many
enhancements, changes and additions in "THE TOTAL HAM PLUS".
RUN this demo program and see what a computer is supposed to do for a ham.
You will find it the most complete and comprehensive program available.
